Is there a Possibility to increase the lowest Pension to 400 BAM?

The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina adopted a Decision to increase the minimum pension in FBiH by 3.2 percent, starting from 1 January 2019.

The FBiH Government also announced an increase of all pensions during this year under the reformed Pension and Disability Insurance Law.

Federal Minister of Labor and Social Policy Vesko Drljaca said that the financial situation in the Pension Fund is satisfactory and that the money needed for this decision is about 25 million BAM annually.

The FBiH Prime Minister Fadil Novalic said that the goal of the current government was for the minimum pension in FBiH to exceed 400 BAM, based on the effects of the government’s work in this mandate.

Novalic recalled that as they were in a situation where the minimum pension amounted to 326 BAM at the beginning of their term in office and that there were also delays in payments.
