FBiH Minister of the Interior Ramo Isak met today with the Police Attaché at the Embassy of the Republic of Austria in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Karlheinz Gortan.
The officials assessed that Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Austria have been successfully cooperating for many years and that the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Austria and the FBiH Ministry of the Interior will, in accordance with their competences, deepen and strengthen the cooperation.
Minister Isak informed the attaché of the Republic of Austria in Bosnia and Herzegovina about the security situation in the territory of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the challenges faced by the FBiH Police Administration of the FBiH Ministry of the Interior.
Police Attaché Gortano pointed out that the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Austria is ready to provide professional assistance to the FBiH MoI.
They also discussed the work of the Special Police Unit of the FBiH Police Administration of the FBiH MoI, where the Police Attaché agreed with Minister Isak that this unit is one of the most respected in the entire region, and one of the proposals was to hold joint exercises of the Special Police Unit of the Republic of Austria “COBRA” and the Special Police Unit of the FBiH Police Administration of the FBiH MoI, as well as the holding of other types of training that will contribute to the exchange of knowledge and experience.
