Ismar Poric received prestigious Award “Filippa’s Angel” in Germany

ismarIsmar Poric (26), the Director and Coordinator of the project “Superar” from Srebrenica, received in Germany the prestigious main award “Filippa’s Angel”, awarded for special contribution in the field of culture, social protection or ecology, but also to those who use their talent in the field of music to help others.

The award was presented to him on September 26th in the beautiful castle Sayn near Koblenz.

Filippa Sayn-Wittgenstein, after whom the award was called, comes from a very old, noble family. At the age of 21, only a couple of months after marrying Vittorio Mazzeti d’Albertis, she tragically lost her life in a car accident.

After a lot of thinking, her parents, husband and family decided that Filippa’s diary, which was subsequently found, should be published. The family thought that Filippa’s diary and her thoughts can be of great help for many young people to find their life path more easily. When Filippa’s diary became a bestseller after publication, the family decided to establish a foundation which would present an award to the young, gifted, and engaged people every year.

Ismar Poric, the Director and Coordinator of “Superar” Srebrenica, was the initiator of the campaign “When hearts come together”, which collected donations for the help to the victims of disastrous floods in B&H, Croatia, and Serbia. A song and video “Love people” were recorded for his campaign. Music was written by Mirko Senkovski, and the lyrics were signed by Mirko Senkovski and Ismar Poric. Raised means were directed to the musical schools from the region that suffered damage during the floods.

As a reminder, due to its special merits, choir Superar from Srebrenica was invited to perform in front of the Pope Francis, on the occasion of his visit to Sarajevo in June this year.

This award is yet another recognition to the choir Superar from Srebrenica in which children of Bosniak and Serb nationality sing together, because now more than ever music proves that it is a language which connects us all and destroys unnecessary barriers of human mind among peoples, it was stated from Superar.
