The Israeli military detained 64 Palestinians, including a seven-year-old child, during a raid two days ago in the northern West Bank.
The arrests came just one day after Israel released 90 prisoners as part of a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement that ended the 15-month war in Gaza.
“Israeli forces entered the town of Azzun and forced shop owners to close their stores,” journalist and activist Fares Al-Azzouni said.
He stated that the occupation forces entered homes and a mosque, detaining 64 residents, including children.
“The detainees were forced to lie face down on the ground in the square before being made to walk in a line with their hands on the shoulders of the person in front of them,” Al-Azzouni said.
They were taken to a military camp at the northern entrance of the town.
Clashes erupted during the raid. Israeli soldiers fired live ammunition and tear gas in residential areas.
Three residents were hospitalized after being beaten by Israeli soldiers at the northern entrance of Azzun on Sunday night.
A ceasefire agreement went into effect on Sunday.
