Israel attacks Iran’s Capital with Explosions booming across Tehran

Israeli military forces have initiated attacks on Iranian soil, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announcing the launch of “Operation Lion’s Rise.”

“Just moments ago, Israel began Operation Lion’s Rise – a targeted military campaign aimed at neutralizing the Iranian threat to our nation’s survival. This mission will continue for as long as needed to contain the danger,” Netanyahu stated during a national address delivered around 3 a.m. He emphasized that Iran has recently taken unprecedented actions, escalating the threat level.

Preliminary reports suggest that Israeli forces struck Iran’s main uranium enrichment facility located in Natanz, approximately 225 kilometers south of Tehran.

Netanyahu reiterated that the offensive would persist as long as necessary.

According to Iranian state media, the Israeli attacks also targeted the Revolutionary Guard’s headquarters in Tehran, along with several other sites in the capital, including residential areas. Reports further claim that the airstrikes resulted in the deaths of top Iranian officials, including Revolutionary Guard Commander Hossein Salami and Fereydoon Abbasi, the former head of the Atomic Energy Organization.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) issued a statement regarding the Israeli attacks on Iran and the assassination of IRGC Commander-in-Chief Hossein Salami, announcing a retaliatory strike on Israel.

In a press release, the IRGC said that General Salami was one of the most experienced Iranian fighters.

“Undoubtedly, Major General Salami was one of the most prominent commanders of the Islamic Revolution and a man from the scientific, cultural, security and military fields of jihad, who was present in all scenes with a sincere, wise and patriotic spirit,” they said.

The Chief of Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces, Mohammad Bagheri, was killed during Israeli strikes on Iran in the early hours of the morning, the country’s state television reported.

Israeli attacks on Iran hit several cities, including the capital, Tehran.

“Major General Mohammad Bagheri, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, died as a martyr,” it was briefly announced.

They emphasize that the IRGC will continue his path.

“The martyrdom of this great general is proof of the injustice and justice of the Islamic Republic and further proof of the impotence and helplessness of the evil enemies and state terrorists in the face of the soft power and firm will of the Mujahideen on the path of truth. The criminal Zionist regime will pay a high price for this crime that was committed with the knowledge of the evil rulers of the White House. The IRGC is more powerful than ever, and the miscalculations of Iran’s sworn enemies will not go unanswered,” they concluded.
