The World Health Organization (WHO) confirmed that WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus was at the airport in Yemen at the time of the Israeli airstrike.

Ghebreyesus himself spoke out about the attack and said that they were preparing to fly at the time of the attack.

“As we were preparing to board our flight from Sa’ana, about two hours ago, the airport was bombed from the air. One of our crew members was injured. At least two people were killed at the airport,” he said.

He said the attack was carried out just a few meters away.

“The attack, which occurred just a few meters from where we were, damaged the runway, the passenger area and the air traffic control tower,” he said.

Recall that the Israeli military confirmed that it had carried out attacks on several locations across Yemen, including the capital.

“Following the approval of operational plans prepared by the General Staff of the Minister of Defense and the Prime Minister, IAF fighter jets carried out strikes on military targets belonging to the terrorist Houthi regime in the west coast and interior of Yemen in a short period of time,” they said, Klix.ba writes.
