The acting director of Sarajevo International Airport, Dino Selimović, announced that the low-cost airline Wizz Air will have lines from Sarajevo to Berlin, Prague and Bratislava starting next winter.
According to him, the flights on the mentioned lines will be throughout the next year. He announced this at today’s commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the re-establishment of traffic at Sarajevo International Airport after the three and a half year siege of the city from 1992 to 1995.
In addition, Selimović reminded that during the summer season of 2027, the low-cost airline Ryanair will fly planes with a total of 420,000 seats from Sarajevo Airport, which he pointed out is a record number.
Selimović emphasized that on August 15, when it was the anniversary of the re-establishment of traffic, the daily record in the number of passengers was broken again. As he stated, on August 15, 1996, few believed that Sarajevo Airport would be the main entry point for numerous foreign tourists to Bosnia and Herzegovina three decades later.
