–Brnabić: There will be no lunch break because we need to work harder–

Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabić informed MPs that there will be no lunch break today.

“Because we need to work harder, work more efficiently and get to the point where we adopt the amendments to the Law on Higher Education as soon as possible so that students in the blockades know and see that this request has been realized and fulfilled and that we are there for them,” said Brnabić.

After that, the debate on the amendments to the Law on Higher Education continued according to the list of registered speakers.

–Lazović in front of the Parliament: We did not want to let them push through 65 points-

Radomir Lazović, a member of parliament from the Green-Left Front, addressed the citizens gathered in front of the Parliament building and said that without the support of citizens, civil society organizations, experts and others, “we would not have achieved all this”.

“The government wanted to push through another 65 points under the pretext of the fall of the government. We did not want to allow them to do that. We believe that only one point can be on the agenda, and that is the fulfillment of students’ demands,” said Lazović.

–Debate in the Parliament underway – ruling coalition MPs speak, opposition makes noise–

As the session continued, several ruling coalition MPs addressed the Parliament, while opposition MPs made noise with whistles and vuvuzelas.

Assembly Speaker Ana Brnabić said that among the injured MPs was Sonja Ilić, who is in her eighth month of pregnancy. As she pointed out, doctors are fighting for her and the baby.

–Krkobabic: MP Jasmina Karanac shot in the head–

PUPS MP Stefan Krkobabic said that Social Democratic Party MP Jasmina Karanac was shot in the head during today’s session.

Speaker of the National Assembly Ana Brnabić said that Jasmina Karanac suffered serious physical injuries.

Speaker of the National Assembly Ana Brnabić said that MP Jasmina Obradović, who, as she said, was thrown a stun gun, suffered a stroke and is in life-threatening danger and has been transferred to the hospital.

–Mali explains the proposal for amendments to the Law on Higher Education–

Despite the noise and smoke that filled the assembly hall, First Deputy Prime Minister Siniša Mali began to explain the proposal for amendments to the Law on Higher Education.

Brnabić: Two MPs have resigned

The Speaker of the National Assembly pointed out that MPs Živan Bajić and Branko Vujković have resigned from their parliamentary functions.

–Fight among MPs, Brnabić was thrown with water–

In the hall filled with smoke, someone threw water at the Speaker of the National Assembly Ana Brnabić, and then a fight broke out among the MPs.

Brnabić announced from the podium that the Parliament would continue its work and called on MPs to return to their seats.

–Session of the National Assembly of Serbia suspended after smoke bombs were thrown into the hall-

The session of the National Assembly of Serbia was suspended when opposition representatives threw smoke bombs and lit flares after the entry of government ministers, and a physical confrontation also occurred.

The opposition parliamentary groups stated that the opposition MPs believe that the “Government has fallen” and that Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabić is “trying to introduce ministers from the government that has fallen into the hall”.

They proposed that only one item on amendments to the Law on Higher Education be on the agenda today.

Brnabić said that the Parliament session would continue because “the Parliament must do the job it is responsible for”.
