Federation of BiH records Significant Increase in Number of Tourists

The total number of tourist arrivals in January 2025 in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) amounted to 70.602, which is 9.8 percent more compared to the same month in 2024. Compared to December 2024, that number is lower by 9.5 percent.

The share of domestic tourists is 36.4 percent, and foreign tourists 63.6 percent.

The total number of overnight stays by tourists in January 2025 amounted to 148.774, which is 8.7 percent more compared to January 2024, and compared to December 2024, it is higher by 1.7 percent. The share of domestic tourists in overnight stays is 33.3 percent, and foreign tourists 66.7 percent.

According to the type of accommodation facility, the largest number of overnight stays was achieved in the category Hotels and similar accommodation with a share of 97 percent.

The most overnight stays were achieved by tourists from Croatia (32.2 percent), Turkey (13.6 percent), Serbia (10.7 percent), Montenegro (6.2 percent), and the People’s Republic of China (4.5 percent).

The number of available beds in January 2025 amounted to 29.252, which is 4.7 percent more compared to January 2024. The net bed occupancy rate for the category Hotels and similar accommodation in the area of the FBiH amounted to 18.4 percent.
