Reduced Number of Flights from and to Sarajevo

Most airlines reduced flights to and from Sarajevo as a prevention of the spread of coronavirus, while some completely canceled flights for the coming period.

“Today, like yesterday, five inbound and five outbound flights are planned. The first expected is a flight from Istanbul, then Budapest, Munich, Vienna and Zagreb, and outbound flights are planned for those destinations. This morning’s flight to Vienna has been canceled,” was confirmed to Fena news agency by spokeswoman for Sarajevo International Airport Sanja Bagaric.

Austrian Airlines canceled all flights from March 19-28 for Vienna, while Croatia Airlines canceled all morning and night flights to Zagreb until March 28th.

“Representatives of Sarajevo International Airport are in contact with all relevant institutions, and we have taken all measures envisaged to reduce the exposure and the possibility of transmission of the disease, especially when it comes to our employees, who are obliged to wear masks and gloves. Measures are also being taken to disinfect the space and vehicles used to carry passengers,” Bagaric said.

Considering that the situation with flights is constantly changing, from Sarajevo International Airport they ask passengers to contact the airline they intend to fly before, that is, embassies or consulates of the countries to which they are traveling.
