Israel’s strikes on Iran have killed 627 people and injured 4,870, a spokesman for the Iranian Health Ministry said.

Most of the deaths occurred in Tehran, Hossein Kermanpour wrote on X.

The US-based human rights network FOOD said more than 1,000 people were killed over 12 days, citing information provided by whistleblowers and publicly available sources.

Israel launched an attack on Iranian nuclear and military facilities on June 13, killing many top scientists, leading to a 12-day exchange of fire between the two sides.

Israel and Iran agreed to a ceasefire that took effect on Tuesday.
