Italian artist Alfredo Pirri will have an exhibition in ARK-Centre

In the underground ARK-Centre in Konjic, Italian artist Alfredo Pirri, started setting up his exhibition from the cycle ‘Passi’ which will be exhibited in the second cycle of D-0 ARK Underground Project, reports FENA.

In the next few days, Pirri will continue with setting of his demanding installation that will cover the area of 80 m2 said to FENA manager of the Biennale Edo Hozić.

Pirri graduated at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome and his art has been exhibited all over the world. His solo and joint exhibitions include thee participation at Venice Biennale, Minimalia, PS1 New York, Biennale of Contemporary Arts, L’Havane (2001), Palazzo delle Papesse, Siena (2000 and 2001).

So far, six art work from Edo Murtić, Edin Numankadić, Ibro Hasanović, Dalibor Martinis, Danica Dakić and Adel Abidin, which will be exhibited at the second Biennale have been installed.

Second Biennale of Contemporary Art D-0 ARK Underground will open o 26 April in ARK (Tito’s Nuclear Shelter) and 35 artists from 19 countries will participate.

Partner countries are Croatia and Turkey, and BIH Presidency is the sponsor while UNESCO and Council of Europe supports this project, which is the most significant regional cultural project.

ARK or Tito’s shelter was built from 1953 to 1979, 280 metre below ground on area of 6 584 m2 with 12 connected blocks and more than 100 rooms, with the aim to protect 350 people from the former Yugoslav ruling elite during the nuclear catastrophe.
