Italy is another country that has joined the list of sponsors of the Draft Resolution on the Srebrenica genocide, which will be on the agenda of the United Nations General Assembly on May 2nd.

In its announcement on X, the Srebrenica Memorial Center briefly thanked Italy for this occasion.

“Italy will be a co-sponsor of the Resolution on Srebrenica. Thank you,” the center stated.

On the social networks of the Memorial Center in the last few days, this institution confirmed and expressed its gratitude for the support of the Resolution to Rwanda, Germany, New Zealand, Chile, France, Liechtenstein and Slovenia, the USA, and now Italy has joined this list.

On May 2, the UN General Assembly will also discuss the Resolution on Srebrenica, which is an issue that has already caused numerous reactions in the region.
While the majority of politicians from BiH welcomed such a step, numerous condemning reactions came from Serbia and the RS, and it was stated that this resolution actually aims to stigmatize the entire Serbian people.

The draft Resolution on Srebrenica in its preamble nowhere mentions either the Republika Srpska or Serbia, so all the statements of officials from BiH. entities as well as neighboring countries fall into the water in a certain way.

What is emphasized, and what is expected, is the judgment of the International Court in The Hague, which emphasizes that genocide was committed against Bosniaks in Srebrenica in 1995.

The proposal of the resolution went on behalf of 17 countries to 193 addresses of member states of the United Nations.
