The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have seized more than 1 million dollars in various currencies since the infantry entered Gaza, according to a statement issued on Sunday by the Israeli Defense Ministry.
“The Loot Removal Unit of the Technology and Logistics Division of the IDF confiscated five million shekels, which have been seized since the beginning of the infantry’s entry into Gaza, among other things in Hamas strongholds and in the homes of wanted persons, where Hamas was active,” the statement explained.
Various currencies, including Iraqi and Jordanian dinars, as well as the United States (U.S.) dollars, were found in Hamas strongholds and residences in the Gaza Strip. The money has since been transferred to the finance department of the Israeli Defense Ministry and will be deposited in the state coffers, the statement said.
Israel and many other countries have been cracking down on terror funding since the October 7th massacres led by Hamas, erupting into a war in Gaza.
It should be recalled that in a massive operation in several regions on November 16th, hundreds of German police officers searched several associations suspected of supporting the Lebanese group Hezbollah.
The U.S. and the United Kingdom (UK) also undertook a “Coordinated Action Against Hamas Leaders and Financiers,” announced on November 14th, following previous efforts against Hamas, Klix.ba reports.
