Ivanić: I do not believe in the Possibility of the Outbreak of War

Ivanic about Outbreak of War dnevnik.baMember of the Presidency of B&H Mladen Ivanić stated that he does not believe in the possibility of the outbreak of war in the Western Balkans, but that the retention of refugees from Syria at this territory might cause horrible problems and tensions, as well as a negative political ambience.

“I do not believe in the possibility of conflicts, but I think that the countries of the Western Balkans are not able to withstand that pressure neither economically or in any other capacities. Not even those people would be happy and satisfied here, they would create certain problems, which would be a negative scenario”, Ivanić considers.

Ivanić believes that the warning by the German Chancellor Angela Merkel of the possible military conflicts in the Balkans should be seriously taken into consideration if Germany closes its border with Austria for refugees. However, Ivanić highlights that this statement was addressed more to the German public, regarding the significance of the moves of this country when it comes to refugees.

“I believe that the assessment on war conflicts is too strong, but that there certainly would be horrible problems, tensions, and negative political ambience. All frictions which arise produce a negative ambience and further complicate our already fragile internal stability”, Ivanić concluded.
