The Vice President of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Biljana Simeunović, resigned from this position this morning.

Simeunović, who is from the Serbian people, submitted her written resignation at the session of the HJPC, which began this morning in Sarajevo.

The President of the HJPC, Halil Lagumdžija, stated that someone from the Serbian people would have to be elected to the position of Vice President of the Council, and that it would be preferable if he was from the Republika Srpska, Srna reports.

The member of the Supreme Court of Justice, Davor Martivnoić, said that he could not understand that the resignation was passed so lightly and asked to present the reasons for its submission.
