Deputies of the Assembly of the Canton Sarajevo (CS) were discussing information on the current epidemiological situation caused by the coronavirus at an emergency online session, as well as the measures being taken in the competent CS institutions.
Before addressing the representatives of health institutions, KCUS, General Hospital “Prof. Dr. Abdulah Nakas”, Ambulance, Health Insurance of CS, Health Center of CS, CS Institute of Public Health, and President of the Crisis Staff and Minister of Health Haris Vranic, Cantonal Prime Minister Edin Forto warned that Sarajevo is currently the biggest hotspot for COVID-19 infection in Europe.
“Currently, Sarajevo is the largest hotspot in Europe. That is true, everyone who says that it is not so, does not pay enough attention. That is why today we all have to discuss together what to do next in order to move from number one in Europe “, Forto indicated yesterday.
He stressed that the basic postulate of crisis communication is that the public must be addressed clearly and tell the truth no matter how difficult it may be.
Forto also expressed the expectation that the CS Assembly will provide unequivocal support to create mechanisms to suppress coronavirus, but also to provide support to the economy.
Although it was planned to hold the continuation of the regular 33rd Working Session yesterday, it has been postponed, and the public will be informed about it on time.
Yesterday at 7 a.m., the ban measures for business entities in the CS, which were in force last weekend, expired. After the expiration, business entities continued to work, while respecting all epidemiological recommendations and orders that were set.
As was mentioned earlier, classes in schools will take place through the online model until March 26th, 2021.
