Bulgarian President, Rosen Plevneliev, who was on an official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina yesterday, visited the old part of Sarajevo, accompanied by his host, the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mladen Ivanić, and his personal escort.
After being welcomed with the highest of state honors, attending a meeting with members of the Presidency of B&H, and attending a bilateral meeting with the official delegations of the Republic of Bulgaria and Bosnia and Herzegovina, the two officials went for a sightseeing tour of the capital.
The President of Bulgaria visited the narrower center of the city, including the Sarajevo Cathedral, the Jewish Museum, the Bey’s Mosque, and the Old Orthodox Church. During his visit, he was informed regarding various details about the construction of the buildings, as well as other relevant historical data about these sacred monuments that testify to the extremely rich and diverse cultural heritage of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
According to the schedule of the two-day visit, Plevneliev is to meet with members from the College of the Parliamentary Assembly of B&H, the Chairman of the Council of Ministers, Denis Zvizdić, representatives from the Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and with businessmen as well.
Following into the afternoon, a visit to the members of the Bulgarian contingent of EUFOR – situated in the military base “Butmir” – is also set for schedule.
