President of the Party of Democratic Progress (PDP) Mladen Ivanić claims that with his leaving of the leading position in the party he wants to show that it can also be acted differently in politics. Moreover, Ivanić is convinced that new people are necessary in political life.
Ivanić claims that all candidates for the presidential post are equal to him, and he did not want to talk about whether the current vice-president of PDP Branislav Borenović might succeed him.
“I am convinced that new people should be introduced to the political life. As someone who will most probably be the honorary president of PDP, I will remain to be a member of PDP, I will be very engaged and, I would say, get a much broader freedom and work even more on the affirmation of PDP, as well as show that it can be acted differently in politics and leave on time”, said Ivanić to the press after the session of the Main Board of PDP, explaining why he will not candidate for the position of the president of PDP again.
According to Ivanić, there is a discussion within the bodies of the party up to the convocation of the party about his decision.
However, Ivanić is convinced that conditions were created for an easy transformation of leadership and key people within PDP.
The seventh convocation of PDP will be held on November 28, and the new statute and program documents of the party for the coming four-year term will also be adopted.
