‘’It is a great sports challenge, honor and responsibility to be the coach of B&H. I followed the B&H team and it seems to me that this is a healthy team, and with hard work can achieve good results. We have to play at the European Championship’’, said Duško Ivanović, who was presented yesterday as the official coach of the B&H basketball team.
The renowned Montenegrin expert will have his first task in August with the B&H team, and he said that he has conducted interviews with some players.
‘’Harun Mahmutović and I were in Zagreb, where we spoke with Nurkić and Šutalo. Tomorrow I will speak with Gordić. I have already spoken with Mirza Teletović, and of course I have to speak with the rest of the players. I hope that we could make the best possible team. A national team is different from a club. Here is the key desire and ambition of the players. Desire is the deciding factor. We cannot force anyone to play. If someone does not come with a huge desire to play, it is sure to be a negative factor in the team, and no one wants that. The basketball players with whom I speak have a wish to be members of this team. If we manage to create a team that can function as a club, then this is a big advantage for us’, said coach of the B&H basketball team, whose assistants on the bench are Nenad Trajković and Ivan Velić.
The B&H team will play against Great Britain and Iceland in the qualifications. The team is expected to gather on 1 July, and the plan for preparations will become known in the next days.
