Izetbegović Met With British Ambassador and the U.S. Charge D’affaires

fergusonChairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bakir Izetbegović hosted two separate meetings with the Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to BiH Edward Ferguson and the charge d’affaires of the United State Embassy Nicholas Hill.

The main topics of the meetings were the implementation of election results and program goals of the newly elected authorities in the upcoming mandate, the Presidency of BiH said in statement.

Interlocutors agreed that they should quickly form the legislative and executive branches of government on all levels and that the ruling coalitions should be concerned with program goals and have more stable parliamentary majorities with the capacity to implement coalition programs.

Izetbegović said that the newly elected government must be dedicated to urgent implementation of social and economic reforms which will ensure macro-economic stability, development of economy, intensive employment, improvement of competitiveness of the BiH economy and increase in influx of foreign investment.

Besides that, it is necessary to join the efficient fight against corruption and crime and meeting key conditions for the continuation of EU and NATO integration such as making the decision on the coordination mechanism in the process of accessing the European Union and the decision on registering military property in line with the Talin conditions for the activation of the Action Plan for the membership in NATO.

Ambassador Ferguson and charge d’affaires Hill congratulated Izetbegoivć on his and the election victory of the Party of Democratic Action.
