Izetbegovic: Mostar will have a Rotating Mayor

Mostar will have a rotating mayor, said yesterday the president of SDA, Bakir Izetbegovic.

We have an interesting hint of the outcome, which could mean introducing a third candidate for mayor of Mostar once again, Izetbegovic said in an interview with the O channel.

“Three people would rotate during the four-year mandate, which would be interesting for  SDA. One of the two candidates would be elected today, and the others would rotate as in the Presidency,” Izetbegovic said.

Namely, this is an agreement that provides the rotation of most likely three people in the position of mayor of Mostar, every 16 months.

According to the current balance of power, these would be councilors from the HDZ, the Coalition for Mostar, and Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) block.

This proposal is just one in a series of initiatives to elect the mayor of the city on the Neretva within a reasonable period.

Yesterday, councilors had the second round of voting, so Mario Kordic from HDZ and Zlatko Guzin, the candidate of the Coalition for Mostar, were left in the election race, Klix.ba writes.
