Izetbegovic: Schmidt is asking for the almost impossible Thing

SDA President Bakir Izetbegovic said that he doubts the success of domestic politicians in agreeing on changes to the BiH Electoral Law in the next six weeks, that is, within the deadline set by High Representative Christian Schmidt.

“The high representative said that we have six weeks to do something. In this pre-election fever, to solve what we were not able to solve relatively calmly, the past two years – it is almost impossible. He asked for an almost impossible thing. I think that the parties will compete among themselves in patriotism, who refuses it better”, he declared.

However, Izetbegovic says that it has been shown what can be done.

“It is clear to formulate the limits, because he will probably impose something. Yesterday he said that 3% is not a solution, and five days ago everyone on the other side thought it was a solution. So we have to show that even the eight who appoint the government is not a solution, as well as the mechanisms that strengthen the position of the deputies’ clubs, so that in fact eight people rule the country. We will clearly define what does not work, and what it imposes should be acceptable. And on that side, I am optimistic that we can thus influence the decision of the high representative, by lobbying in the east and the west, with friends to direct things where they should go. We can do that,” he said, Klix.ba writes.
