Elmedin Konaković should never have been the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bakir Izetbegović, president of the Party of Democratic Action, told BHRT.
“He should not have been appointed to that position because Konaković has no experience or diploma. I don’t think they intend to dismiss him, this is just a pretend game for Dodik and Konaković to raise each other’s prices. Konaković tried to declare January 9 a day of mourning because he lost the elections, now he needs a fight with Dodik. SNSD has no intention of dismissing him. If SNSD wants to dismiss him, let them change the explanation and SDA will support them, we would have strong reasons. But this is not a reason. We are always in favor of dismissing Konaković, he has no place there. If a mass emerges that thinks so, we are in favor of it,” Izetbegović emphasized.
Speaking about the Coalition of Three and the situation in the Federation, and in BiH in general, he said that the situation is catastrophic. He believes that the Three is “bluffing” when it talks about ousting the SNSD from state power and that it “can’t do anything”.
“Cović and Dodik de facto rule the country. Cović has brakes for everything, and the Three made it possible for him. Dodik can only decide on the European path for some benefit that he will have. Cović and Dodik can easily transfer the thirsty across the water. The Troika has no experience. They entered a poker game with two experienced players as an inexperienced man,” he said.
Izetbegović also spoke about the President of Croatia, Zoran Milanović.
“Milanović was a leftist, now he is a right-winger, he was a liberal, now he is a nationalist, he makes chauvinist statements like soap and perfume. Soap is a Muslim contribution to civilization. Sarajevo had water supply and sewerage 400 years before Zagreb. He walked with Komšić in a red jacket, and decorated the man who was at that moment in court because of the disappearance of Serbs in Orašje, and decorated the HVO brigades that committed crimes against Bosniaks.”
He said that Milanović did not want to face the truth, even when Stipe Mesić told him in Izetbegović’s presence what was happening in Karađorđevo and how Tuđman wanted to divide Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“He said, I don’t want to listen to that, that’s not true. He chooses lies. When it comes to hypocrisy and lies, that’s Milanović, they like him like that, good luck with him,” Izetbegović said.
