Izetbegovic: The Hesitance of the OHR encourages secessionist Policies

Yesterday, after the session of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) Presidency in Banja Luka, the President of that party, Bakir Izetbegovic, stated that life would be much better in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) nowadays if it were not for disruptive policies led by the President and the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD).

”If it weren’t for that policy, life in BiH would be much better today, we would have a better standard, fewer young people would leave the country, and that policy now gradually and inevitably leads us into a deep crisis, uncertain scenarios, conflicts, ” Izetbegovic added.

Speaking about the conclusions of the party presidency, he pointed out that they called on the responsible forces in the Republika Srpska (RS), who have a democratic capacity, to stop those policies.

BiH has come a long way in 26 years. We cannot be satisfied, but there is peace and stability and the standard of living is improving. There is a disruptive policy of the SNSD that has lasted for 15 years, since the fall of the April package. This policy leads to a crisis and an uncertain situation.

Izetbegovic emphasized that there is no possibility of unilateral annulment of previously adopted laws in the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, adopted by consensus of political parties from both BiH entities. He added that the lower authorities cannot impose their will on the BiH institutions, nor annul their decisions.

”We also called on the High Representative (HR) to fulfill his obligations, to react within his mandate. His indecision and silence in this regard further encourage secessionist policies and can lead to destabilization of the country, and thus the entire region. If the Office of the HR (OHR) does not protect its latest decisions regarding the ban on denial of genocide and other war crimes, the SDA Presidency will instruct the authorized applicants to appeal to the BiH Constitutional Court when it comes to violation of the BiH Constitution regarding RS decree by the President of RS from the other day, ” Izetbegovic added.

The SDA presidency called on the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH to react to any attempted attack on the constitutional order of BiH that is being announced.
