Izetbegovic: I will not resign!

Izetbegović on Terrorism avaz.baYesterday, the International Court of Justice rejected the request for review of the judgment by the BiH lawsuit against Serbia for genocide.

The news has caused much controversy and reactions, especially after it was announced that the court had informed agent Sakib Softic that he has no legitimacy before the Court of BiH

After the application was rejected, many politicians and officials have asked for the resignation of the first man of the SDA party Bakir Izetbegovic, who initiated the request.

Emir Suljagic, Damir Masic, Fahrudin Radoncic, Nermin Niksic are just several politicians who called for resignation of Bakir Izetbegovic.

On the today’s session of the GO SDA, Izetbegovic has briefly addressed to reporters, saying he will not resign, reports N1.

“I will not resign because I think I’m doing something for what people in BiH chose me,” said Izetbegovic.

Moreover, he admits that he knew of the letter from the court in May 2016 in which Softic was informed that he is not an agent for the Court anymore.

“However, this paper was not based on the statute and the rules of the court or on the practice of the Court. Softic has twice represented BiH, and at the time when Serbia launched a review, Softic had legitimacy. The Court has twice stopped the attempt of the audit, the first time through the registrations, a second time by addressing members of the Presidency of BiH, “said Izetbegovic, congratulating to Softic adding that the announcement of processing of Softic is a nonsense.

When asked why the public was not informed about the letter from May, Izetbegovic said he did not hide anything and had informed the members of the legal team that worked on the revision.
