Jadranka Kosor: How could BiH start Negotiations with the EU when you don’t respect its Institutions?

President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen and Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte met yesterday with members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH). However, Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic was not present at the meeting at the head office.

Former Croatian Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor also commented on this on social media

“How do you think BiH could start negotiating for membership in the European Union (EU) when you do not respect the institutions of BiH and thus prove that it is not a legal state and in which the laws and Constitution of that state do not apply? And one of the foundations of the EU is the rule of law,” Kosor wrote.

It should be recalled that Plenkovic commented on his actions at a press conference.

“My move was in no way aimed at disrespecting the institutions, on the contrary, thanks to Croatia, this European team is in Sarajevo and it is no coincidence that it is speaking in this status so early in the year. My move refers to a problem that has existed in BiH since 2006. It happened again in 2010, 2018, and 2022, and it relates to the election of a Croatian member of the Presidency,” said Plenkovic.
