The two-day “Jahorina Economic Forum” titled “New Age Economics – Innovation, Digitalization and Communication Technology as a Base of Economic Development”, is opened today at the Termag Hotel on Jahorina Mountain.

The meeting is organized by the Association of Economists of Republika Srpska “Swot” in cooperation with the Federation of Economists of Serbia.

The aim of the event is to point to the importance of turning digital economy and the development of information-communication technologies.

President or Republika Srpska entity Zeljka Cvijanovic, Ana Brnabic, Prime Minister of Serbia, representatives of entity governments, the Council of Ministers of BiH, and President of the Federation Marinko Cavara were present at the opening.

The past three forums have generated enormous attention of the professional as well as the general public. Confirmation of the above said, is the fact that each Jahorina Economics Forum brought together more than 400 domestic and foreign participants, and last year, 2018. there were more then 450 participants.

In the previous forums, among others, the speakers included: the President of the Republika Srpska, Mr. Milorad Dodik, Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, Mrs Ana Brnabić, member of the Presidency of BiH, Mr. Dragan Čović, Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska, Mrs Željka Cvijanović, the Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Bosnia and Herzegovina and European Union Special Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ambassador Lars-Gunnar Wigemark, former President of the Bundesbank Dr. Ernest Welteke, Ministers of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Deputy General Manager of the Shanghai Stock Exchange, Mr. Zhou QingYe, American-German Free Journalist, Historian and Economic Researcher, Mr. Wiliam Engdahl, Director of the EBRD Representative Office in BiH, Mr. Ian Brown, Vice President China Shandong, International Economic & Technical Cooperation Group, Mr. Cai Kunte and many others.

As the interest of the media for the forum grows from year to year, we will only mention the fact that the forum in 2018 was followed by about 100 journalists from the Republika Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region. There were 630 press release about the announcement of the event and the event itself in the media publications..

Each forum so far has been thematic, and this year we decided to put innovation and technological advances in the center of attention, because we believe that this is the key to the progress of the Republic of Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the entire region.

We hope you will be able to take part in the JEF 2019 and thus give your great contribution to the successful maintenance of the forum.

Jahorina Economics Forum has become one of the most recognizable events of this format in Bosnia and Herzegovina in short time.
