Jahorina hosted more than 100,000 Skiers this Winter Season

The Olympic center “Jahorina” hosted more than 100,000 skiers this winter season, and it is expected that all attendance records will be broken, considering the already impressive number of reservations, it was announced from this center.

“Thanks to the dedication of the employees, technological improvements and commitment to quality, the financial results have increased by nine times compared to the same period last year,” the Olympic Center “Jahorina” announced.

The largest number of skiers was recorded on January 11, when an impressive 6,000 guests visited the ski center in just one day.

Although there were challenges related to the snow in the previous days, the team of the Olympic Center “Jahorina” successfully maintained the tracks and the artificial snow system is constantly in operation.

Another 30 centimeters of snow fell, and the minus temperature forecast for the coming days will favor the production of new artificial snow.

More than 70 percent of the ski center’s capacity is available to skiers, and intensive work is being done to train the remaining capacities of this ski center.

Night skiing is available every evening from 18:00 to 21:00.

The press release states that the impact on new markets has been expanded, particularly highlighting the successful entry into the English market with a charter flight from London.

“Jahorina has become a destination that attracts winter sports fans from all over the region, including Romania, Hungary and Turkey,” the statement said, adding that it was only because of Jahorina that a flight on the Skopje-Sarajevo route was introduced on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

This season is special because it marks 40 years since the Olympic Games were held in Sarajevo, and various celebrations, retrospectives and opportunities for joint celebration have been prepared.

At the same time, the opening of an exhibition in Jahorina dedicated to the Olympics 40 years ago is planned, with a unique collection of exhibits located in the Poljica gondola.

“This is our way of reviving memories and showing pride in our sporting past and rich heritage,” the statement said.

The “World Snow Day” is also traditionally celebrated, where Jahorina will be the center of games, laughter and good fun for the next three days, and this year special surprises have been prepared for the youngest skiers.

The first day brings a 50 percent discount on children’s ski tickets, the second day numerous activations and surprise prizes, while the third day will be specially marked by the awarding of 100 skis and 100 helmets for the youngest with additional activations and prizes.

The Olympic Center informs skiing fans that there is still an opportunity to book accommodation at the best prices.

“Our apartments offer superb comfort and convenience, and for those who decide to book accommodation, we offer an additional convenience – the possibility of buying ski tickets and joining a ski school with the most expert instructors, all at the best prices,” the announcement states.

The Olympic Center adds that from January 25 to 28, an exclusive 20 percent discount has been prepared on Jahorin’s chili offer.
