There will be no classes in primary schools in the Una-Sana Canton today due to difficult weather conditions and problems with the power supply.

The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Una-Sana Canton has made a decision to suspend classes in primary schools until the conditions for work are created.

The authorities said that the public will be informed in a timely manner about the resumption of classes, after the situation on the ground stabilizes and the basic conditions for work in schools are ensured.

Up to 30 centimeters of snow in Bihać, services on the ground

The intense snowfall that hit the Bihać area during the night brought up to 30 centimeters of snow in some parts of the city, while the competent services have been working since the early morning hours to maintain passability and normalize traffic.

According to information from PUC “Komrad” d.o.o. Bihać, the winter service has been on the ground since late evening and is continuously intervening in cleaning streets and pedestrian zones in the urban part of the city.

Already in the early morning hours, the main roads, access roads to public institutions, and the most frequent pedestrian routes were ensured.

Although traffic is currently moving without major delays, driving is difficult due to snow on the roads.

Municipal waste collection is being carried out according to the planned schedule, with certain deviations when it comes to difficult-to-access and risky locations.

An increased number of failures in public infrastructure has also been recorded, which is associated with the weight of the snow cover.

Authorities are appealing to citizens to be extra careful, especially to avoid moving under trees and near the power grid, and thank them for their understanding and patience during the difficult weather conditions.

Banja Luka under snow

Snow is also falling in Banja Luka this morning. As RTRS reports, part of a tree that broke under the weight of the snow this morning, March 27, fell on cars in a parking lot in the center of Banja Luka.

According to citizens, a tree fell in a parking lot near Branka Majstorovića and Braće Mažar i majke Marije streets.

It is not yet known whether there was any material damage to the cars.

Novi Grad: Three power lines without power

Three power lines in the Novi Grad area are without power this morning, and there is snow on the roads in higher areas.

According to the Information Center, the Dolina Japre, Dolina Vojskove and Dubovik power lines are without power.

50 liters of rain fell in the Novi Grad area in the past 24 hours, and the snow depth is three centimeters at the measuring point, while in higher areas it remains on the roadway.

The director of the Komus utility company, Zoran Mijatović, said that there is no need to engage winter services in the city and suburban settlements, given that the snow is melting.
