jajce4The royal town of Jajce, with its tourist offer this year received a large number of tourists up till the month of June who have surprised even the hosts of this city. Pliva Lakes are a favorite place for tourists from BiH and abroad.

Huso Hadzic, the Director of the Public Institution “Agency for Cultural, Historical and Natural Heritage and Development of Tourist Potential of City of Jajce,” said that this season is the best in the last 20 years.”

“This season started in March with the first tourists, and the month of May was the most striking month so far. Recently, schoolchildren and students are staying in Jajce, who are on excursions trips from Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro and BiH. Tourists from countries in the region, but also England, Germany and even China, are coming to Jajce to enjoy in our country and we are very proud that the number of overnight stays in Jajce is increasing,” said Hadzic.

“Our goal is to get the tourists to stay as much time in Jajce as possible in order to visit the lake, the fort, mills, catacombs, museum and all the old religious objects that excite them the most. This year the situation is better, but we hope that the stay of tourists in our country will be much longer in the following years,” noted Hadzic.

In the future, the fortress in Jajce should get electricity, a toilet and catering facility. The bear tower, which is offering magnificent view of the city, should also be renovated. Pliva Lakes with mills should be registered as a protected area, and the small lake, by the next year, should get a beach where tourists will be able to swim.

In Jajce, on the 24th and 25th of May was held the Fair of tourism and organic products. The best part of the tourist offer is jumping from the waterfall in Jajce which will be held on the 6th of August this year.

“This year, besides participants from our country, we expect competitors from Slovenia, Serbia, Germany, Kosovo and other countries where this discipline is nurtured. I believe that this year will be the best so far, and I believe that we will extend the offer and that we will have a lot to offer,” concluded Hadzic.

The hosts announced that they will continuously work on the expansion of their capacities and the enrichment of the tourist offer in order for guests of the royal town to feel great and find everything they need.
