“Compared to January 2025, the number of visitors increased by 3 percent, while the number of overnight stays rose by as much as 26.9 percent. Foreign tourists accounted for 40,018 arrivals and 126,601 overnight stays, while domestic tourists recorded 10,528 arrivals and 26,197 overnight stays,” TZ KS stated.

The highest number of foreign arrivals came from Turkey, Croatia, China, Serbia, Germany, Montenegro, the United States, Austria, Slovenia, and Italy, while the highest number of overnight stays was recorded by tourists from Turkey, Croatia, Montenegro, China, Saudi Arabia, the United States, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, and Serbia.

“These results confirm that Sarajevo Canton enters 2026 with strong tourism momentum and clear growth trends, particularly in the segment of overnight stays, which demonstrates the strengthening position of Sarajevo as an attractive international destination.
