Japan approved Grant Aid of over 120 Thousand Euro for Projects in the field of Human Security in BiH

The Government of Japan has decided to provide grant funds in the amount of 120,738 Euro (approx. 236,130 BAM) for three projects – two ambulance vehicle procurement projects for the Health Care Centres in Fojnica and “Stana Tomic” in Pale, East Sarajevo as well as a sports equipment procurement project for the Judo club “Student” in Sarajevo.

The Grant contracts were signed by Ambassador Masami KINEFUCHI and the directors of the aforementioned institutions, Mr. Jusuf Zuka, Mr. Ivan Sarac and Mr. Amel Mekic on Tuesday, Feb 20th 2024 at the Residence of the Ambassador of Japan.

The signing ceremony was also attended by the Mayor of Fojnica Municipality Mr. Sabahudin Klisura, Mayor of Pale Municipality Mr. Bosko Jugovic and the president of the Judo Club Mr. Rasim Lakota.

The Government of Japan will grant 50,263 Euro (approx. 98,300 BAM) to the Project for the Provision of an Ambulance for the Health Care Centre in Fojnica. The project will improve their capacity of emergency treatment activities that expected to benefit more than approx. 100 patients annually from this donation.

For the Project for Providing Ambulance to Health Care Centre Stana Tomic in Pale, East Sarajevo, the amount of 49,891 Euro (approx. 97,500 BAM) will be granted. In total, annually more than approx. 160 patients are expected to receive adequate transfer service including the emergency in the Olympic mountain Jahorina.

For the Project for the provision of Judo equipment, the amount of 20,584 euros (approximately 40,260 BAM) will be provided to the Judo club “Student”.

More than 660 people are expected to benefit from this donation annually.
