The Government of Japan decided to make financial contributions in the amount of up to EUR 12,885 to a NATO Defence and Related Security Capacity Building (DCB) Trust Fund Project “Enhancing Cyber Defence in Bosnia and Herzegovina: Capability Development and Training for the Ministry of Defence of Bosnia and Herzegovina”.

This contribution marks Japan’s first-ever defence-related assistance to Bosnia and Herzegovina. It represents an important step toward further expanding the current excellent bilateral cooperation between the two countries into new areas.

Japan has been strengthening its cooperation with NATOin recent years. In the world where the security of the Euro-Atlantic and Indo-Pacific regions is inseparable, strong NATO benefits Japan as well.

In this context, the enhancement of the defence capabilities of Bosnia and Herzegovina—a country deepening partnership with NATO and playing a key role in the stability of the Western Balkans and of Europe as a whole—has great importance for Japan.
