Japan donated 765 000 BAM to Sarajevo Philharmonics

sarajevophiSarajevo Philharmonics marks 90 years of its existence, and yesterday they got the biggest gift in their history when the Embassy of Japan and International Cooperation Agency donated 73 instruments worth 765 000 BAM, and the ceremony was held in the National Theatre, reports Fena.

Manager of Sarajevo Philharmonics Samira Gulamović said that this donation will greatly help the Philharmonics.

Ambassador of Japan to BiH Hideo Yamazaki noted that the Sarajevo Philharmonics managed to survive in the most difficult times and noted that Japan and Philharmonics have a very good cooperation.

Sarajevo Canton Minister of Culture and Sports Ivica Šarić, Muharrem Zejnullah from BiH Ministry of Foreign Affairs and permanent representative of Japanese International Cooperation Agency of the Balkans Office Toshiya Abe attended the ceremony and on that occasion members of Sarajevo Philharmonics played with their new instruments.
