Japan Donates Ambulance and Medical Equipment to Gacko Health Center to Boost Emergency Services

On 11th of June 2025, Mr. AIKI Toshihiro, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the presence of Ms. Nevena Miljković-Mandić, Director of the Health Care Center in and Mr. Vukota Govedarica, Mayor of Gacko Municipality, attended the hand-over ceremony of an ambulance vehicle and medical equipment to the Health Care Center Prof. Dr. Savo Bumbic in Gacko, held at the Center.

Through the program ” Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP)” , the Government of Japan granted 56,856 Euros (approx. 111,200 BAM) to the Health Care Center Prof. Dr. Savo Bumbic in Gacko for equipping with an ambulance vehicle and medical equipment. The project is expected to contribute to the improvement of emergency transportation services and the timely provision of medical aid for estimated more than 340 patients annually, and approximately 6,000 patients each year, for whom the medical equipment will be used, will benefit from improved medical services.

The Director of the Health Care Center Prof. Dr Savo Bumbic in Gacko, Ms. Nevena Miljković-Mandić extended her gratitude and emphasized that the donated ambulance vehicle and medical equipment will ensure safe and efficient emergency transport and medical treatment to patients. Ambassador AIKI expressed his hope that this assistance will be of great benefit to the residents of Gacko Municipality and beyond.
