On 14th February, Ambassador Sakamoto Hideyuki and Minister of Transport of Communications of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Mr. Vojin Mitrović attended a handover ceremony of maintenance car for Bosnia and Herzegovina Air Navigation Services Agency (BHANSA) held in the premises of the BHANSA in Sarajevo.

The maintenance car is granted by Japan’s Non–Project Grant Aid in value approximately 618,000 KM including the meteorological observation system installed in Sarajevo International Airport and Bukovik in order to contribute enhancing capacity of BHANSA regarding the aviation transport.

Ambassador Sakamoto expressed his hope that the grant will improve the connectivity and safety of transport through aviation thus helping the economic activities and mobility of ordinary citizens. Japan places a great importance on the connectivity in this region and has been supporting the sector under its “Western Balkan Cooperation Initiative”,

Minister Mitrović thanked the Japanese Government for the support, which would enhance the capacity of BHANSA to improve aviation safety and directly benefit BiH citizens. Minister Mitrović underlined that Japan is one of the first countries that helped BiH during the floods in 2014 and expressed his gratitude for that.
