Japan equips Center for Mental Disabilities in Bakovici

On 1 February 2022, Ambassadar ITO attended a handover ceremony of “The Project for Equipping Care Center for Mental Disabilities in Bakovici with Agricultural Equipment”, which was held in the premise of Care Center for Mental Disabilities in Bakovici, Municipality of Fojnica at 11:00.

Mr. Marinko Čavara, President of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Sabahudin Klisura, Mayor of Municipality of Fojnica and the related Ministers of Central Bosnia Canton and Officials from the Federation and the Municipality attended the ceremony along with Mr. Branko Stanic, Director of Care Center for Mental Disabilities in Bakovici.
President of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina expressed his gratitude for Japan’s constant supports to Bosnia and Herzegovina, including assistance in the fields of health, education as well as social welfare.

Ambassador ITO expressed his wish for further promoting economic and business relation in various fields. Also, Ambassadar ITO and the President exchanged views on socio-economic and cultural cooperation for the future.

Under Japan’s “Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GAGP)” program, the Government of Japan granted 68,819 EUR (approx. 134,600 KM) to Care Center for Mental Disabilities in Bakovici for procuring a tractor and 20 agricultural equipment. The project will improve the environment for social welfare services in the facility. This assistance will benefit about 300 mentally disabled users.
