Jazz concert of Sinan Alimanović

As a part of the International Festival Sarajevo Winter 2013, in cooperation with Bosniak Institute – Adil Zulfikarpašić Fund, on Wednesday, 27 February at 8 p.m., there will be a jazz concert of Sinan Alimanović named ‘My favourite things’.

The guest of the solo concert is guitar player Vernes Ljuštak.

Program:

– My Favorite Things ( Richard Rodgers )
– My Funny Valentine ( Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart )
– If I Should Lose You ( Ralph Rainger )
– Ti si mi bila u svemu naj, naj… ( Indexi )
– Kraj Tanana Šadrvana ( Hajnrih Hajne )
– All Blues ( Miles Davis )
– Donna Lee ( Miles Davis )
– ‘Round Midnight ( Thelonious Monk )
– Sinoć sam ti Safo dvoru dolazio ( tradicionalna pjesma ), guest: Vernes Ljuštaku – guitar
– Isn’t She Lovely ( Stevie Wonder ), guest: Vernes Ljuštaku – guitar
– Body and Soul ( Johnny Green ), guest: Lejla Alimanović – vocal

Music of Sinan Alimanović is the testament of time in which we live and the also testament that jazz still lives in BiH.

Some of the musicians he cooperated with: Gianni Basso, Duško Gojković, Erich Kleinschuster, Alvin Quin, Vaclav Zahradnik, Stjepko Gut, Petar Ugrin, Ladislav Fidri, Barbara Hendrix, Aladar Pege, Deseö Csaba, Lee Harper and many others.

He was the member of ‘Indexi’ and wrote many adaptations of traditional BiH love songs. As a conductor, he represented BIH at the Eurovision, and in 2003 he published a CD ‘Sarajevo Remake’.

He currently works as a professor at the Music Academy in Sarajevo.
