Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are reportedly divorcing.
As In Touch Weekly writes, the actor “was fed up” and decided to divorce the singer, and he has reportedly already moved out of the house they share. This was confirmed by a source close to the couple.
“It’s over, they’re going to divorce, and this time Ben shouldn’t be blamed for it,” claims the insider.
Fans have already noticed that the couple has not spent time together for weeks. The actor was not at the Met Gala with his wife on May 6th, despite her important position as co-chair of the event.
Ben’s official excuse for not attending the Met Gala was that he was busy filming The Accountant 2, but In Touch’s source claims that he has decided to divorce.
”Now he is focused on work and his children. Ben has already moved out and will probably sell their dream house, which they’ve been looking for for two whole years. They will never stop loving each other, but she can’t control him and he can’t change her. There was no way this would last,” the source claims.
The couple, who were once in a relationship before they broke off their engagement in 2003 and then reunited nearly 20 years later, have previously had relationship problems as they dealt with fame in different ways.
Jennifer handled the media attention much better, while Ben always ran away from it. In the documentary The Greatest Love Story Never Told, the singer also revealed that they have a hard time dealing with the public’s attention and that they have to make compromises there.
”I don’t think Ben is comfortable with me doing this, but he can’t stop me,” Jennifer said.
“Ben never wanted to destroy Jennifer’s dreams or tell her she couldn’t do something to help her career, even though she controls him quite a bit,” the source claims.
“They waited almost two decades to be together again, but in the end it just didn’t work out”, adds the source and continues: “Both said that they have matured and learned from their mistakes, but some of the bigger problems that caused them the first time separated they remained the same.”
Namely, it is known that Lopez and Affleck started a relationship in 2002, and got engaged later that year. However, the couple split in 2004 after postponing their wedding the year before. After years apart, Lopez and Affleck finally reunited in 2021 and married in 2022.
