The Republican Party will push for a “more aggressive” approach toward China in the new United States (U.S.) Congress, stated the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, Mike Johnson.
“I think we need to be very aggressive with China. You will see a very aggressive approach to this in the new Congress. Republicans are very serious about it, very resolute. We have a significant number of laws and measures we want to implement,” Johnson said following the Republican Conference Meeting.
He also added that he expects President-elect Donald Trump to be “very aggressive” regarding the China issue.
Meanwhile, Chinese President Xi Jinping stated during a meeting with outgoing U.S. President Joseph Biden in Lima on Sunday, November 17th, that he is ready to cooperate with the Trump administration.
