The International Assembly of the Catalan Institute for Peace issued a unanimous decision to hand out the ICIP peace builder Award for 2013 to Jovan Divjak, a retired general of the RB&H Army for his courage in helping to defend Sarajevo during the siege, announced the Association of Education Builds B&H.
Divjak was also handed out the award for his contribution to civil society, with a variety of positive initiatives towards victims of war, said in a statement.
The award ceremony will take place in the Catalan Parliament in 2014, and Divjak will attend the event.
