Pliva Waterfall in Jajce, more than 20 meters high, will host a unique sports and tourist event of the International Competitive Jumping from the waterfall, which will be held on August 14. So far, 30 jumpers have applied to participate.

The organizer of the 6th international competitive jumps from the waterfall in Jajce is the Agency for Cultural, Historical and Natural Heritage and Development of Tourist Potentials of Jajce, from which they announced that after a year break caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, visitors and jumpers can expect a rich program.

Agency Director Anto Brtan told FENA news agency that on the occasion of the International Competition Jumps from the waterfall, the Agency is carrying out the last preparatory activities.

Thus, among other things, the pool under the waterfall is being cleaned in order to create the most favorable safety conditions for the successful conduct of the competition.

“So far, 30 jumpers have applied for the competition, but we expect confirmation of several more. Most jumpers are from Bosnia and Herzegovina. Nine jumpers come from Serbia, and two from Montenegro. Unfortunately, this year we will not be able to host jumpers from other countries due to current travel difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, “Brtan said.

When it comes to the program, the competitive part of the jumps will be in the style of “Lasta”, and after the first series of jumps, the ten best jumpers will be placed in the second, final series.

In the show part, the jumpers will perform in the so-called freestyle, and the best in that part of the program will receive a trophy.

After the jumps, a concert by the band “Pochko & New Primitives Songs” will be held at the Pijavice Stadium.

“Since all activities are carried out in the open, we will take the necessary epidemiological measures in accordance with the recommendations of the competent authorities,” Brtan pointed out.

The Agency also reminds that according to the statements of professional high jumpers from the USA, Colombia, Germany, Denmark and other countries, who had the opportunity to jump from the waterfall in Jajce, jumping in Jajce is one of the most challenging but also the most beautiful places to jump. It is a special charm for jumpers to jump from a natural waterfall located in the center of the historic town of Jajce.
