Karalic: We Are Not Doing This for Awards, but It’s Nice to See That Effort Is Appreciated

The founder and president of the humanitarian organization Pomozi.ba, Elvir Karalić, is a recipient of the Sixth of April Award of the City of Sarajevo.

Alongside him, the Obala Art Center also received the award.

“It is not only me who feels honored and thrilled, but everyone in the Pomozi.ba Association. We all feel great pride and satisfaction for receiving the Sixth of April Award, one of the most prestigious recognitions we could receive.

What we do is definitely not motivated by awards, but it is nice to see that effort and dedication are appreciated. I must emphasize that this recognition is not just mine. It belongs to the entire Pomozi.ba team, as well as to all the people who, from the founding of the Association until today, have contributed to our actions and projects in any way. Every gesture and support, no matter how small, has been part of this shared success.

I especially want to thank everyone who proposed my candidacy and supported the initiative for this award. Among them are Ismail Barlov, last year’s Sixth of April Award recipient, BH Telecom, the Renesansa Association, the ADA Association from Germany, the Spid Swimming Club, the Committee for Awarding the Sixth of April Awards, and the councilors of the City Council of Sarajevo, who recognized the importance of humanitarian work.

This award represents an additional encouragement to continue our dedicated work and humanitarian activities with the same passion as on the first day,” said Elvir Karalić.
