SIPA Issues Warning to Citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina

The State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) warned citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina about the appearance of false e-mails that have recently been sent to individuals and legal entities. These e-mails claim that there is information regarding alleged illegal activities of certain people.

The agency emphasizes that these messages are false and that the names of institutions and officials, including the name of the director Darko Ćulum, have been misused.

“The State Investigation and Protection Agency informs citizens that, in the recent period, e-mails have been sent to individuals and legal entities stating that there is information about certain people engaging in illegal activities. In these e-mails, the perpetrators often misuse the names of members of the State Investigation and Protection Agency, and recently we have noticed that the name of Director Darko Ćulum is also being abused.

We warn citizens that the claims in these e-mails are false and that the names of institutions and individuals have been misused.

If citizens receive such e-mails, we advise them not to open them or respond, and if they have been affected in any way, to report it to the competent police authority immediately,” SIPA stated.
