Karic replied to Cosic: Send the ”Signs of Expelled” to the Prisons where Convicted War Criminals lie

The mayor of Sarajevo, Benjamina Karic, sent a message to the mayor of Istocno Sarajevo, Ljubisa Cosic, who yesterday, unprovoked, made a scandalous comment on the city of Sarajevo.

Cosic said that he would put up signs ”The city of Istocno Sarajevo, the city of 157.000 Sarajevo Serbs who had to leave it”.

”The signs at the entrance to the city of Sarajevo state that the city of Sarajevo was under siege for 1.425 days. We respect that the situation was as it was and that the civil war in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) was as it was, but in the future, the signs at the entrance to the city of Istocno Sarajevo will read: City of Istocno Sarajevo, city of 157.000 Sarajevo Serbs who had to leave it,” Cosic stated.

Karic reacted to that statement.

”Mayor Cosic, send the ”expelled signs” to the prisons where convicted war criminals lie or in front of the houses of those who systematically asked people to leave their homes in Sarajevo. The City of Sarajevo is again on target, which even Cosic himself cannot dispute the 1.425 days under siege. But that’s why, in a very perfidious way, he says that a civil and not a defensive-liberation war was fought against unprecedented aggression against BiH and its capital,” Karic said.

She added that Sarajevo has always been and will be a city for all well-intentioned and broad-minded people of all religions and nations.

”That is why we will never allow anyone to devalue its openness and tolerance, and to equate victim and criminal,” she added.
