Banja Luka Mayor announced Attendance of the Funeral of War Criminal Mladic

The president of the “Sigurna Srpska” movement and the mayor of Banja Luka, Draško Stanivuković, in his latest statements, said that he will go to Belgrade for the funeral of convicted war criminal Ratko Mladić.

Among other things, Stanivuković tried to justify the “glorification of war criminals” by saying that he would not give up his views. He pointed out that “he does not consider the expression of condolences and respect for soldiers and generals to be glorification”.

He also stated that an atmosphere is being created in the public where people are prosecuted for expressing their own opinion.

“And first of all, what a rude term, what glorification? And what does glorification mean to them? We only said what was true. That he was a general who did not choose his calling, but in the worst of times that calling chose him to defend our homeland and our country,” said Stanivuković.

He went on to say that he will attend the funeral and that he considers it natural to “respect the sacrifice of a member of the Republika Srpska Army”.

“Because we expressed our condolences, because we said: yes, we will be at the funeral, logically we will be. And we respect the sacrifice made by every soldier and every general, we respect that. And because of that, someone is prosecuting us. You see, I won’t even scratch my head about it. But what I know to be true is true,” he said, reports RTRS.
