The Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Zlatko Lagumdzija received a letter from the Secretary of State of the United States John F. Kerry.
In the letter, the Secretary of State, Kerry thanked Lagumdzija on previously addressed letter with information about the challenges that our country faced after catastrophic floods and landslides.
In addition, Secretary of State Kerry recalled that the United States Government has allocated 2.7 million Dollars of emergency assistance to Bosnia and Herzegovina. The humanitarian aid allocated consisted of boats, water pumps, water treatment systems, essential humanitarian supplies and food aid. In addition, the professional psychological support to displaced persons was also given.
Moreover, the United States has sent the demining team, which engaged in identifying and destroying of mines. The demining teams from the USA worked together with the Centre for removal mines in BiH (MAC). Further on, it was recalled in the latter, that the charge d’affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Sarajevo Nicholas M. Hill announced that the U.S. will provide a further 10 million Dollars in aid for the country.
