Zeljko Komsic, the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), talked yesterday in Madrid with His Majesty King Philip VI of Spain.
The interlocutors discussed friendly relations between the two countries, the improvement of political, economic, and cultural ties between the two friendly countries. In that sense, the idea of opening the Miguel de Cervantes Institute in BiH was also discussed.
The Chairman of the Presidency of BiH, Zeljko Komsic, expressed gratitude to His Majesty Philip VI for the assistance provided by the Kingdom of Spain during the aggression against BiH, expressing condolences over the death of General Luis Carvajal, who commanded Spanish troops in BiH. King Philip VI pointed out that in the army of the Kingdom of Spain, many soldiers and generals feel connected with BiH, and that they have frequent memories of the Spanish army’s engagement in BiH.
King Philip VI expressed satisfaction with the fact that the Government of the Kingdom of Spain has committed itself to more active engagement and assistance to BiH in the field of economic cooperation, emphasizing support for preserving the sovereignty and territorial integrity of BiH. Also, King Philip VI stated in this regard that the Kingdom of Spain is particularly following the events in one of the entities of BiH.
Chairman Komsic said that all open issues in BiH must be resolved with more mutual understanding, and exclusively through the institutions of the state of BiH.
Also, Komsic met with the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Spain, Pedro Sanchez, who announced an official visit to BiH.
