The well-known Sarajevo company Klas d.d. plans to expand its production and open a new plant in Srebrenica, which is expected to bring up to 150 new jobs.

This investment represents an important step toward strengthening the local economy and creating new employment opportunities.

During a visit by representatives of the Klas company to the head of the municipality, Milos Vucic, both sides confirmed their readiness to cooperate with the goal of developing economic activities and increasing production capacities in Srebrenica.

The Klas delegation was led by General Director Madzid Avdagic, who, together with Mayor Vucic, discussed concrete steps for the implementation of the planned project. Vucic reminded that this is a continuation of discussions that began three months ago and are now moving into the phase of practical realization.

“Klas already operates in Srebrenica through a smaller plant, and now they plan to open a new facility in the confectionery industry. The machines have already been procured, and we expect that a suitable space for their installation will soon be found. This project will enable the creation of new jobs, and in the coming period, up to 150 workers could be employed,” said Mayor Vucic.

He emphasized that the local administration is actively working on creating a better business environment and supporting investors, highlighting three key priorities of the municipality: water supply, the economy, and education.

“Our goal is for Srebrenica to become the center of economic development of the Zvornik region and a place where citizens have more opportunities for work and progress,” added Vucic.

“This investment brings new jobs, modern technology, and an additional incentive to the development of the domestic economy. We believe in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and in the people who create within it. That is precisely why we invest where every new opportunity means a lot,” said Rusmir Hrvic, Chairman of the Board of AS Holding, of which the company Klas is a member.

General Director Madzid Avdagic confirmed that the company has already purchased a modern production line for confectionery products worth around 70.000 BAM, which will be installed in Srebrenica as soon as a suitable space is secured. “Klas has been present in Srebrenica for ten years through the production of BiH rahat lokum, and now we plan further expansion and the introduction of new products. I am confident that in the coming months we will launch the new plant and increase the number of employees,” said Avdagic.

He expressed satisfaction with the cooperation with the local community, emphasizing that he is particularly impressed by the openness and understanding of Mayor Vucic, which additionally motivates the company to invest in development precisely in Srebrenica.
